They have talked about setting it up on the mall: http://www.openpark.net/Which would be cool, but seems like it would require hanging out on the mall to access it, which usually means interaction with tourists, which I generally try to avoid.
city-wide wifi should be complete in nola in a month or two. na na na na na!
